We drew 4,380 on a Monday night when the first significant snow of the season made driving the Cascade passes a hazardous decision for central and eastern Oregonians. With a break from the scheduler and the weatherman, could have have easily had a crowd in excess of 5,000.
In case you haven't heard, the crowd broke out into chants of: "Save Oregon Wrestling" at the end of the match. One of the community college wrestling teams manufactured and distributed hundreds of Save Oregon Wrestling shirts. The table out front sold out of shirts.Coach Kearney and his staff receive a plaque from the NWCA prior to the meet. The floor-level and mezzanine seats were 95% full. Each "team" posed with Save Oregon Wrestling t-shirts prior to the match. One of the community college wrestling teams distributed hundreds of shirts an hour before the match. The chants "Save Oregon Wrestling" emanated from this section. After the match, Oregon's wrestling lettermen gathered for a picture at matside. There was a social afterward.
