Dear Wrestling Community,
As you have no doubt heard the University of Oregon Athletic Department announced this past Friday, July 13 2007, the addition of Varsity Baseball and Competitive Cheerleading program, and the discontinuation of the Wrestling program.
There are select groups of Oregon wrestling alumni that will be heading the charge to try and get our program reinstated. Starting the website and signing the petition is a fantastic start, however we will need to do much more in order to change the minds of the powers that be.
Before we set a meeting we would first like to get an idea of how many people would be interested in attending. The meeting would entail information about the discontinuation, and a brainstorming session in order to gather ideas for a unified strategy to combat the athletic department’s decision and gain reinstatement for the program. What we would be looking for from everyone is a name and your current location so that we will be able to choose the most logical venue for a meeting.
We would like to find a place that could best accommodate everyone.
